West Lincoln’s Huitt signs with Mars Hill University

West Lincoln quarterback and free safety Mason Huitt (seated center) recently signed a national letter of intent to play football at Mars Hill University.  Huitt has been a 3-year starter for the  Rebels and a major part of their success. As a senior, Huitt helped lead the Rebels to a record of 5-3 and a second-place finish in the South Fork 2A Conference.  He is undecided on his major.  “Mason has been a true blessing to coach,” said West Lincoln head coach Darren Ponder.  “He is a great athlete as well as a great person . He will be successful at what ever he does because of his work ethic.”  Pictured seated along with Huitt are his parents Bryan and Teresa Huitt, brother Duncan and sister Kami.  Standing are athletic director David Avery (left) and head football coach Darren Ponder.
