LHS at WL Girls Basketball

The West Lincoln Lady Rebels battle Lincolnton on Friday.  West Lincoln defeated the Lady Wolves by a score of 47-32 to improve to 2-2 on the season.

After the Lady Rebels defeated Lincolnton 47-32 in the varsity opener to improve to 2-2 on the season, the Lincolnton boys won their third game of the year in the nightcap.

The Wolves had six players score in double figures Friday night, with Tylan McClain and DeAndre Smith scoring 13 points each to lead a balanced attack in their 82-61 win at West Lincoln. Jacob McGill, Reed King and Gavin Queen all scored 12 points, and Connor Williams added 10 as Lincolnton improved to 3-1 on the season.

Nine different players got into the scoring column for the Rebels, led by Austin Flowers 16 points. Holiday Hopper poured in 13 points for West Lincoln and Chevy Short added 11 for the Rebels, who fell to 0-4.

East Lincoln 50, Bandys 42

East Lincoln (3-0) held on in the fourth and final quarter, withstanding a furious rally by the Trojans to win by a score of 50-42 in the South Fork 2A Conference matchup Friday night in Denver.

The Mustangs had three players in double figures, led by Evan Montanari’s 16 points. Drew Bean chipped in 13 points and Logan Craig had a career-high 12 points to pace East Lincoln to their third win in three outings.

Keelan Henrickson and E.J. Habschied had 12 points apiece to lead the Trojans, who fell to 0-4.

The Mustangs will travel to Maiden on Tuesday, while Bandys will play host to West Lincoln.

Kelsey Campo had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist to lead the Lady Mustangs to their first win of 2021. Ginny Overbay added 9 points, 12 boards, a steal and a charge taken for East Lincoln, who will play at Maiden on Tuesday.
