Summer Basketball Camp
The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation and the Lincolnton High School Athletic Department will hold a Summer Basketball Camp for boys and girls grades 2–9 to be held Wednesday and Thursday, June 12-13 from 9 a.m. - noon at the Lincolnton High School Gym. Cost for the camp is $25. Registration for the camp is being taken at the Lentz Recreation Center at Betty G. Ross Park Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., or online at HYPERLINK “http://www.LincolntonNC.org/Parks-Rec” www.LincolntonNC.org/Parks-Rec. East Lincoln Summer Baseball Camp
The East Lincoln Mustangs will be holding a baseball camp from June 17 through June 20. The camp will be divided into four age groups, 6-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13 and up. The camps goals under the direction of head baseball coach Chris Matile are to help all campers learn the fundamentals of the game and improve their overall playing abilities while most importantly, having fun. In addition to Coach Matile, campers will be instructed by assistant coaches and current Mustang players. All participants should wear baseball pants, a t-shirt and a hat, and should bring their glove, a water bottle, sunscreen and tennis shoes (for inclement weather). Catchers need to bring their own gear. Campers should also bring a snack. The camp will take place at the East Lincoln High School baseball field, and the cost is $90. Pool Opening and Water Aerobics
The Lincolnton Recreation pool located at Betty G. Ross Park is now open for the Summer. Pool operational hours are as follows: Monday–Saturday: 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Pool admission: $2 per day for city limit residents, and $3 per day for non-city limit residents. Season passes and group rates are available, and the pool is available for rental after hours. Also, water aerobics will be offered on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. beginning on June 11 and continuing through August 13. Cost is $3 per session for city residents and $4 for non-city residents or $20 (city residents) and $30 (non-city residents) for the entire program. Lady Mustangs Basketball Camp
The East Lincoln girls basketball team will host their annual summer camp on July 22-25 at the High School. The camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day, and is open to all rising 4th through 9th graders. Directed by East Lincoln head coach Jason Otey, the camp will focus on individual skill work, development and improvement of fundamentals and in-game strategy and creating basketball IQ. The cost of the camp is $60 for pre-registering and $70 the day of the camp. Families with multiple participants will pay $50 each. Each camper will receive a t-shirt and have an opportunity to work with the high school coaches and players.
