The South Fork 2A recently announced the 2019 All-Conference Track & Field team, and leading the way with 11 selections were the conference, regional and state champion North Lincoln boys.

Brian Risse, Jason Thomson, Jake Soorus, Sam Brady, Jalen Ward, Landon Beard, Johnny Grant, Jason Risse and Khari Johnson were all All-Conference picks in multiple events.

East Lincoln’s Kobe Thomas was also named to the squad in multiple events.

The All-SF2A girls team had six picks from both East Lincoln and North Lincoln.  The Lady Mustangs were led by multiple event winners Michaela Gammon and Hope Hembree, and the Lady Knights’ Angie Allen, Olivia Correa and Anaia Mayner were also multiple event honorees. 

Lincolnton’s Emily Shain was another multiple event winner named to the squad, and the West Lincoln 4x100-Meter relay team was also All-Conference.

Three North Lincoln male athletes received individual awards. Brian Risse was the Distance Runner of the Year, Jalen Ward was Sprinter of the Year and Jake Soorus was named the male Field Athlete of the Year.

Angie Allen of North Lincoln was named female Distance Runner of the Year and teammate Olivia Correa was the Field Athlete of the Year.

Lake Norman Charter’s Chioma Asiegbunam was the female Sprinter of the Year.

North Lincoln boys head coach Jason Castro took home the Coach of the Year award, and the girls Coach of the Year was Jason Barnes from SF2A champion Bandys.
