Post 100’s Blackburn named Jr. Legion State Player of the Year

Cherryville Post 100’s Will Blackburn was recently named the American Legion Baseball Junior player-of-the-year in the state of North Carolina.  Blackburn, a junior at Lincolnton High School, helped lead Post 100 to their first ever Junior state championship.  He hit .509 (26 for 51) during the regular season and Area IV playoffs with a home run, 9 doubles and 16 RBIs, while 4-0 on the mound.  In the Junior state tournament, Blackburn hit .590 (13 for 22) with 4 doubles and 6 RBIs.
