Longtime wrestling coach has gym named in his honor

West Lincoln’s Butch Ross (front) has taught and coached in the old gymnasium at the high school since 1990.  He retired from teaching in 2018 after 38 years, and has been the Rebels’ wrestling head coach since 1996.  The old gym at West Lincoln High School has been the home of Rebel Wrestling since the program’s inception, and honoring Coach Ross with the naming of the gymnasium after his impact on the school, students, and wrestling program was only fitting. Pictured with Coach Ross are Brian Clary (LCS athletic director), Dr. Nathan McLean (WLHS principal) and David Avery (WLHS athletic director).  (Published May 21, 2021)
