Local talent participated at 2019 state championships

Several of the county’s top female golfers competed in the 2019 1A/2A Women’s Golf State Championship last October at the Longleaf Golf and Family Club in Southern Pines.  Sophia Laliberte (pictured) of East Lincoln shot a two-day score of 182, while West Lincoln’s Laycee Hoffman shot 190.  Other top golfers were West Lincoln’s Reese Coltrane (189) and Rae Watson (204). Lincoln Charter’s Angela Jeffords became the first female golfer in school history to play in the state championship tournament. (Published October 26, 2020
