East Lincoln fishing duo signs with CVCC

East Lincoln High School anglers Brooke Armstrong and Cabe Mackey will be joining the fishing program at CVCC after signing with the Red Hawks this past week.  “I am excited about having Brooke and Cabe join us in the fall,” said CVCC bass fishing head coach Angela Mayo. Signing to compete on the bass fishing scene collegiately is a dream come true for Mackey. “I love to fish, and I always have since I started,” Mackey said. “This means a lot to be on a team that is doing very well and for coach Mayo to believe in me. It’s an amazing feeling.”  Armstrong is thankful for the ability to get her education while also competing on the water. “Having an opportunity to go to school while doing something I love means the world to me,” Armstrong said.  Armstrong and Mackey join a CVCC bass fishing team that currently ranks as the top junior college program in the latest Bass Pro Shops School of the Year standings.  Pictured are, seated left to right: Angela Mayo (CVCC head coach), Brooke Armstrong and Cabe Mackey.  Standing: John Mayo (CVCC assistant coach).
