Catawba Valley 2A names All-Conference baseball

The Catawba Valley 2A Conference recently released the baseball All-Conference team for the 2023 season.

Leading the way was conference champion Maiden with five selections, including Offensive Player of the Year Tyler Hedgepeth. As a senior, Hedgepeth hit .435 with 3 home runs and 17 stolen bases.

League runner-up and conference tournament champion Bandys put four on the All-Conference squad. Senior hurler Cade Spencer was the CVAC Defensive Player of the Year, posting a 7-4 record with a 1.42 ERA.

West Lincoln had three players on the All-Conference team, including Taylor Cook, Noah Gantt and Evan Hartsoe. Jacob English and Jordan Truesdale were Honorable Mention.

Lincolnton’s Garrett Hedgepeth made the CVAC All-Conference team, with Caden Smith and Karson Cloninger being Honorable Mention.
