Mary Sue Smith Holler, age 85 of Lincolnton passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton.
Sue was born July 1, 1934 in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Arie Smith. She was a nurse for 38 years. In addition to her parents, her husband, Ray Holler preceded her in death.

Nellie Sue Leatherman Harrill
Nellie Sue Leatherman Harrill, age 84, of Woodmont Circle in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Chad Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Harrill was born November 19, 1934, in Lincoln County, to the late Hal and Vera Dellinger Leatherman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Alexander Harrill.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Harrill, and wife Amanda, of Cherryville, and Jeff “Bo” Harrill, and wife Rhonda, of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Alicia High, and husband Lance, Jaclyn Harrill, Alex Harrill, and Patrick Harrill; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan Hodgins, Jake High, Beau High, and Jayci Randall.

Richard Hal Warren
Richard Hal Warren, 63 of Boosville Curve Road, Vale passed away, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at his residence.
Born September 26, 1955 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Fate Alvin Warren, Sr. and Margaret Lueva Bowen Warren. He was retired from West End Sales.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Warren.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Shelia Craig Ramsey and her son, Waylon Ramsey; two daughters, a brother, Steve Warren of Gaston County and a sister, Carolyn Towery of Fallston.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marie Green officiating.
Burial will follow in Charity Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ted William Frye
Ted William Frye, age 77, of Hickory, died on Monday, September 2, 2019.
Mr. Frye was born September 30, 1941, in Catawba County, to the late Earl Washington Frye and Montez Cecil Parker Frye. He served in the United States Army and later was the owner and operator of 2 Fryes Mulch & Lawncare.
He is survived by many friends and acquaintances.

Boyd T. Dellinger
Boyd T. Dellinger, age 95, of Sherrills Ford, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Carolina Caring in Sherrills Ford.
His funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Seagle and Rev. Jeff Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 until 3:15 p.m. at the church.
Boyd was born December 31, 1923, in Lincoln County, to the late Henry and Mary B. Dellinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dot S. Dellinger of 64 years; brothers, Webb, Kemp, Hughes, Page, and Blair Dellinger; and sister, Lois Dellinger. He was a faithful member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Maiden. He enjoyed playing golf. He was an Army Veteran in World War II stationed in Germany. He worked with his father and brothers at the family sawmilling business. He later went to work for Duke Power and retired from there.
Survivors include Jo Kelly, his sister-in-law of Denver, Robin Ramsey of Hickory, and Linda Bryson of Denver, who were his caregivers. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Peggy Ledford of Denver and Sophia Dellinger of Catawba; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Barbara Anne Stroud, age 70, of Bailey Springs Drive in Lincolnton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the Lincolnton Church of God with Rev. Dr. Richard King officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 until 11:45 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. Stroud was born June 5, 1949, in Cabarrus County, to the late Clarence Baskins and Lizzie Osborne Baskins, who raised her. She is also preceded in death by her biological mother, Louise Baskins Mason. She worked in manufacturing.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Stroud of the Monroe; daughters, Cheryl S. Pate of Lincolnton, and Hope S. Bridges of Lancaster, SC; six grandchildren, Allison James, Chasity Hughes, Phelan Pate, Chris Hughes, and honorary grandchildren, Heather James, and Joanna Bostic; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Collins of Albemarle; and honorary daughter, Mary Baskins of Rock Hill, SC.
