Laurene Mae Fredenberg

Laurene Mae Fredenberg, 86, of Lincolnton died Monday, November 18, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 15th, 1933 in Monticello, New York to the late Lael LaGrande and Irene Kinch.

Laurene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family was her entire world; they knew her as Meme. She loved staying home to be able to cook and care for them. Laurene was very active in the Boy and Girl Scouts as her children grew up and when she had some time she loved to read, crochet, and watch The Hallmark Channel.

She is survived by her two daughters Lynda Fredenberg of Lincolnton, NC and Lori Thompson (Richard) of Bath, NH; her son Richard Fredenberg (YenJen) of Latrobe, PA; her grandchildren Cheryl McKean (Richard), Christy Boyles (Stuart), Mike Thompson (Samantha Gildea), Corey Thompson (Ashley), Kim Fredenberg, and Sean Fredenberg; her great grandchildren Kyle McKean, Derek McKean, Christian Boyles, Carter Thompson, Cassidy Thompson, Kaylum Thompson; her niece Susie Edwards (John); and her nephews Jimmy Petrowsky (Penny) and Al Petrowsky.

In addition to her parents, her husband Rodney Willard Fredenberg, her brother Lael Kinch and her great grandson Joshua Cole Boyles preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epilepsy Research at Boston Children's Hospital, in memory of Laurene Fredenberg, in honor of Christian Boyles. Boyd Kelly Isenhour, 85 of Catawba passed away November 18, 2019.

 The funeral service will be held today at noon at United Missionary Baptist Church, in Claremont, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 – 11:45 a.m. at the church.

Joanna Eibisch Honeycutt, 93, of Hickory passed away November 17, 2019.

A graveside service to celebrate Joanna’s life will be held November 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville, NC. The family will receive friends following the service.

Jimmy Glenn Lookadoo, passed away November 13, 2019.

Jerry Thomas Andrews, 78, of Newton passed away November 17, 2019.

A service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held November 22, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden. Burial will follow at Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends November 22, 2019 from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church.

 Dwight Wesley Shultz

Dwight Wesley Shultz, age76, of Old Lincolnton-Crouse Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, November 18, 2019.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the Lincolnton Church of God, where he was a member.  Rev. Dr. Richard King will officiate.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Shultz was born September 29, 1943, in Lincoln County, to the late Lee Shultz and Marie Reep Byers.  He worked for Mohican Mills. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sunny days on the lake.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Graves Shultz of the home; a son, Eddie Shultz, and wife Lisa, of Lincolnton; a daughter, Tammy Shultz Edwards, and husband Andy, of Dallas; three stepchildren, John West, and wife Michelle of Belmont, Kevin West of Shelby, and Kim Chapman, and husband Shannon, of Boiling Springs, NC; brothers and sisters, Keith Byers of Lincolnton, Reba Bluff of Cherryville, Vivian Taylor, Rita Rhyne, and Edna Spencer, all of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren, Terry Shultz, Michelle S. England, and husband Cameron, Jordon Lackey, and wife Samantha, Wesley Lackey, and wife Hope, Brittney West, Alexis Bahnke, and husband Brandon, Thomas West, Breanna Jones, and husband Brock, and Justin Clemons, and wife Courtney; seven great-grandchildren; and his special fur baby ‘Charly.’

Lakes Goldman Dockery

Lakes Goldman Dockery, 88, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. He was born on February 10, 1931 in Cherokee County to the late James Henry and Matilda Stiles Dockery.

 He started his own roofing business in 1950, Lakes Dockery Roofing, was a member of Crowder’s View Free Will Baptist Church, he served as an Ordained Deacon & Treasure at several church’s. He loved gardening, playing putt-putt, spending time with his family and making memories.

 Lakes was preceded in death by his daughters Vickie Dockery and Glenda Hardy; son-in-law Roy Hardy; great-grandchild River Ross; brothers Henry, Rex, Lloyd, Johnny and Lonnie Dockery; sisters Geneva Hackler and Deloris Gilbert.

 Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 68 years Pauline Weaver Dockery; daughter Tammy Ross and husband Sam; sons Tim Dockery and wife Frona and Greg Dockery and wife Jan; grandchildren Jennifer Dockery, Rebecca Abernathy (Josh), Jessica Parker (Lonnie), Timmy Dockery (Ashley), Josh Ross (Jessica), Holly Hovis (Corbin), Haley Woodward (Jason), Amber Battle (Bob), Emily Gregory (Nick); 16 great-grandchildren; sister Billie Jean Martin; close family friends Enid Murray, Roseann Swan, and Allison Flowers.

 Lakes’ funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Maranatha Baptist Church, Dallas with Pastor Jonathon Smith and Rev. Chris Doster officiating.

 His visitation will be held from 6:00 –8:00 pm Tuesday, November 19 at Maranatha Baptist Church, Dallas.
