Deborah Leonard Hinson

Deborah Leonard Hinson, age 60, of Lincolnton, died on Sunday, November 24, 2019.

 Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at McKendree United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Plott officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Warlick Funeral Home. 

 Ms. Hinson was born April 24, 1959 in Harnett County, to the late Sterling and Nadine Auton Leonard.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Hinson; and a brother, Russell Leonard.  She worked for Hickory Chair. 

 She is survived by her children, Jamie Hinson, and wife Mindy, Jennifer Shull, and husband Adam, Jonathan Hinson, and wife Alisha, and Jesse Hinson, and wife Rebecca, all of Lincolnton; a brother, Jerry Leonard of Lincolnton; three sisters, Kathy Leonard and Brenda Ellington, both of Lincolnton, and Loretta Byers of Sherrills Ford; two granddaughters, Laney and Paisley; and nine nieces and nephews.

 Billie Joe Kiser

Billie Joe Kiser, 79, of Maiden passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home of Salisbury.

 He was born June 9, 1940 to the late Ernest and Gertrude Pritchard Kiser of Lincolnton.  He was a veteran of the US Army and was the former owner of Country Heart Furniture in Maiden.  Bill loved to fish, be with his family and make everyone laugh.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Kiser, David Kiser, and John Kiser and sister, Carolyn Kiser.

Those left to cherish his memory are: Wife/companion of 53 years: Teddi Kiser of Maiden, 2 Sons: Greg Kiser of Maiden, Heath Kiser and wife Leslie Kiser of Maiden. 2 Sisters: Shirley Peeler of Matthews and Diane Hollis of Arizona/Alaska, 6 Grandchildren: Miranda Kiser Rowe, Lauren Kiser, Nolan Kiser, Jaiden Kiser, Kaley Kiser and Ashtyn Kiser , 1 Great-Granddaughter: Cree Rowe, And many nieces and nephews, Per his wishes, no services will be held.

 Gerald Franklin “Stumpy” Brotherton

Gerald Franklin “Stumpy” Brotherton, 70, of Denver, NC, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019, at his home.  He was born November 10, 1949 in Iredell County to the late Jimmy and Faye Clodfelter Brotherton.  He worked for Duke Energy at the McGuire Nuclear Station for many years and was also employed by Ingersol Rand before his retirement.  Stumpy proudly served his county in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a graduate of East Lincoln High School.  He is survived by his brother, Jeff (Denise) Brotherton; sister, Ann (Ron) Howard; nephews, Shane (Tina) Clark and Taner Howard.

Services will be on Saturday, November 30 at 3:00 PM at Webb’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor John Yeager officiating.  Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service from 2 – 3 PM.  Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Mary Alice Pope Schronce, 82, of Maiden passed away November 24, 2019.

 A memorial service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held today at 3 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Maiden.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends today from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
