A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton. The family will receive friends prior to the service today from 1 - 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frances Punch Crouse, 93, Newton passed away June 13, 2019.

A service to celebrate Frances’s life will be held today at 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Newton. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will received friends June 16, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Donny Wayne Wilson

Donny Wayne Wilson, 65, passed away June 14, 2019.

The Wilson family received friends June 16, 2019 from 2 - 3 p.m. at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home.  A memorial service followed at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Goodin-Drum Funeral Home.  Pastor Don Sigmon will be officiating.

 Richard (Dick) Ernest Campbell

Richard (Dick) Ernest Campbell, age 76, of Lincolnton, NC passed away on June 14, 2019. He was born February 2, 1943 in Lockport, NY to the late Sherman and Mildred Campbell.

Dick was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated with a master’s degree from Duke University (1967). He enjoyed teaching at Spartanburg Methodist College for 17 years. Dick excelled as an entrepreneur and small business owner. He also worked in real estate. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed announcing collegiate and high school sporting events. He was happiest relaxing by the pool with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years Jo Ann Campbell and his two sons Jeff (Wendy) Campbell of Medina, OH and Mark (Anne) Campbell of Lincolnton, NC. He also leaves behind grandchildren Alex Campbell (22), Madison Campbell (20), Savannah Campbell (20), Tobey Campbell (18), and Taylor Campbell (17). Dick is survived by his brother William (Linda) Campbell of San Jose, CA.

Friends are invited to remember Dick on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 with a visitation beginning at noon followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home, 125 Dave Warlick Dr. Lincolnton, NC 28092.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to support The American Diabetes Association.

Randy Dean Tallent

Randy Dean Tallent, age 64, of Sam Houser Road in Vale, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019.

A memorial service to honor Randy’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Fulker officiating.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:45 p.m. at the church.

Randy was born May 3, 1955 in Lincoln County, to the late John Dean Tallent and Sue Carpenter Tallent.  He was a loyal, trusted brother and son, a dedicated husband, a proud, loving father, and treasured by ALL of his family.  He loved and enjoyed his career as a truck driver for 43 years. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Phyllis Richard Tallent of the home; a son, John Dock Tallent of Vale; a daughter, Elle Dellinger, and husband J, of Vale; a brother, Doug Tallent, and wife Gena, of Lincolnton; three sisters, Renee Lanier, and husband Rick, of Vale, Kathy Slawson, and husband Bob, of Vevay, IN, and Krista Tallent of Vale; nieces and nephews, Shannon Harris, Logan Dupree, Layn Tallent, Natasha Herman, Angie Davison, Angel Watson, Markus Beam, Sally Day, and Luke Johnson; mother-in-law, Willie “Mom” Richard, “sisters in life”, Johnnie Rae Beam, and husband Mark, Debbie Logan, and Tammy Johnson, and husband Todd, all of Vale; in addition, his great nieces and nephews, Laken, Adaline, J.T., Rae, JayMark, Finley, Beau and Wilkes; and the rest of his beloved family.

Robert Lewis Stephens

Robert Lewis Stephens, age 71 of Denver passed away on June 8, 2019 at his residence. Born November 4, 1947 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Floyd Newton and Maggie Grubb Stephens.

Jacob Wayne Chase

Jacob Wayne Chase, age 24, of Union Church Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:45 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Jacob was born June 11, 1995, in Gaston County, to Robert Jason Chase and Machell Shuler Chase.  He worked as a mechanic.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Machell Chase of Lincolnton; his twin brother, Daniel Chase of Lincolnton; his uncle, Frank Humphreys, and aunt Audrey, of Fort Payne, Alabama; and aunt Sandy Odell, and uncle Frankie, of Mt. Holly.
