Tommy James Murphy Sr., 75, of Newton passed away June 19, 2019.
A service to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held June 22, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Concord United Methodist Church in Catawba. Burial with military honors by American Legion Post 48 will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends June 22, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Concord United Methodist Church.

Calvin Eugene Leatherman
Calvin Eugene Leatherman, 75, of Dansbury Lane, Vale, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home.
Born in Cleveland County, on June 17, 1944, he was a son of the late Judson Leatherman and Charlene Parker Leatherman. He was retired from the NC Department of Transportation and also farmed agriculture crops and raised cattle. Gene was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a step grandson.
He is survived by his partner of thirty years, Sue Turpin; two sons, Gene Leatherman and wife Carol Anne and Randy Leatherman and wife Brandi both of Vale; five stepchildren, Paula Yocun and husband Randy, Rodney Turpin and wife Lisa, Eric and friend Stephanie, Brian Turpin and wife Charity and Crystal Bennett and husband Kent; brother, Eddie Leatherman and wife Kathy of Freehold, NJ; sister, Glinda Parker and husband Danny of Vale; nine grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, one step great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region, Lincolnton Branch, and the doctors and staff at Wake Forest Cancer Center.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.
The funeral will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Chambers officiating.
The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mickey Wayne Brendle
Mickey Wayne Brendle, 63, of Vale, entered the church triumphant Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Born September 13, 1955 in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Coy Curtis Brendle and Carolyn Hoyle Brendle Hastings. He was retired from GKN in Maiden and was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Pamela Matthews Brendle; son, Bradley Wayne Brendle and wife Debbie of Vale; daughter, Shasta Brendle Canipe and husband Kevin of Vale and two grandchildren, Cameron Wayne Brendle and Ava June Canipe.
The visitation will be 6:00PM until 8:00PM Friday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be 1:00PM Saturday at Macedonia United Methodist Church with Revs. Gary Fulker and Tony Matthews officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Emily Yvonne Goodman Canipe
Emily Yvonne Goodman Canipe, age 65, of Home Trail in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Canipe was born August 9, 1953, in Catawba County, to the late Vernie and Virginia Campbell Goodman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Jimmy Goodman; and a sister, Gloria Dean. She worked in healthcare.
Surviving her are her husband, Larry Canipe of the home; a son, Mark Canipe of Lincolnton; a daughter, Melissa Stouffer, and husband David, of Lincolnton; a sister, Connie Silva of Lincolnton; a brother, Tommy Goodman of Gastonia; a grandson, Nathan Stouffer; numerous nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Loretta Hodge.

Donna Lynn Feazelle Arrowood, age 56, of Meadow Lane in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, June 16, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Wheeler officiating.
Donna was born December 25, 1962, in Henry County, Virginia, to Judith Thompson Feazelle and the late Charles Willard Feazelle, Jr. She worked for the Lincoln County Department of Social Services.
She is survived by a son, Wesley Arrowood, and wife Brianna, of Bismarck, ND; a daughter, Kaylee Arrowood of Lincolnton; her mother, Judith Feazelle of Lincolnton; a sister, Joni Truss, and husband Art, of Belmont; five grandchildren, Jaida and Wyatt Arrowood of Bismarck, ND, Jason Whisnant of Lincolnton, and Annelise and Gionna Avery of Lincolnton; and a loving extended family with numerous nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
