Isaiah Ramon Vazquez, 20 of Cherryville, passed away July 4, 2019.

A service to celebrate the life of Isaiah will be held July 20, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church.

Darrell Joe Price, 53, of Maiden, passed away July 17, 2019.

His funeral service will be held at 11a.m. July 20, 2019, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. July 19, 2019, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Ryan Christian Fox, 49, of Newton passed away July 17, 2019.

A memorial service to celebrate Ryan’s life will be held July 20, 2019 at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Newton. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall at the First United Methodist Church in Newton.

Stephen Henry Miller, 76 of Maiden passed away July 17, 2019.

A graveside service will be held, July 20, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Baldwin Cemetery in West Jefferson.

Dwight William Martin

Dwight William Martin, age 98, of Salem Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019, at Victory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Clay Ledford and Rev. Dr. David Jarrell officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m.

Mr. Martin was born May 19, 1921, in Lincoln County, to the late Lee and Dessie Lackey Martin.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Carpenter Martin; a daughter, Cathy Shuford; and a grandson, Keith Shuford.  Dwight served in the United States Army during World War II, and then later worked as a machinist.  After retiring, he was able to pursue his love for horses. 

He is survived by a son, Darrell William Martin, and wife Kelly, of Lincolnton; two daughters, Elaine McClure, and husband Jerry, of Lincolnton, and Sandy Gantt, and husband Ben, of Vale; a brother, Dennis Martin of Okeechobee, FL; a sister, Evelyn Humphries of Lincolnton; and twelve grandchildren, Lori McClure, Steve McClure, Kevin Goins, Sherri Keener, William Martin, Leslie Shuford, Jon Shuford, Ryan Shuford, Lisa Stalcup, Tina Ledford, Jake Garvey and Jessica Garvey; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Victory Grove Baptist Church, Building Fund, 457 Victory Grove Church Road, Lincolnton, NC  28092.

Annie Marie Shuffler Setzer Crytz

Annie Marie Shuffler Setzer Crytz, age 84, of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

Annie was born March 23, 1935, in Burke County, to the late Lonnie and Sadie (Smyre) Shuffler.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jack Crytz; three sisters, Isabell Setzer, Evelyn Leaf, and Lila Jean Shuffler; two brothers, Jack Shuffler and Lee Shuffler; and her ex-spouse, Charles W. Setzer, Jr.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Setzer, and partner Lance Jackson, of Houston, TX, and Jack Crytz of Tennessee; two daughters, Tracy Spirakis, and spouse Nick, of Denver, and Lonna Crytz Lundquist of Hickory; two brothers, Bill Shuffler and Lonnie P. Shuffler, both of Morganton; three grandchildren, Holly Roten, and spouse Michael, Sadie Crytz, and Gage Lundquist; two great-grandchildren, Natali and Nathan Roten; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time.

Carolyn Ann Drum Walker

Carolyn Ann Drum Walker, age 73, of E. Highway 150 in Lincolnton, went to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Marcus Redding officiating.  The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019, at Salem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Walker was born October 23, 1945, in Lincoln County, to the late Pinkney and Bertie Painter Drum.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Walker Isenhour; and a granddaughter, Tabitha Morrison.  She worked in textiles.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Walker, of the home; a son, Tommy Walker, and wife Lori, of Lincolnton; two daughters, Michelle Peeler, and husband Jeff, of Iron Station, and Tammy Morrison, and husband Mark, of Lincolnton; a brother, James Drum of Lincolnton; four sisters, Judy Rudisill of Maiden, Pansy Sherrill of Vale, Alice Canipe of Maiden, and Janet Bridges of Denver; seven grandchildren, Angela, Crystal, Derek, Matt, Chris, and Cameron; and three great-grandchildren, Mya, Landon, and Cole.

Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC  28092.
