Dolores Merriner, 74 passed away Tuesday December 17th at her residence.
Dolores was born August 18, 1945 in Schenectady County, NY to the late Joseph Lucarelli and Mary Diarito. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gary Merriner and her sister Rita Empie.
She is survived by daughter Kelly Hicks and husband Barry of Denver, granddaughter Stephanie Estes and companion Rodney Rollins of Charlotte, grandson Seth Estes and wife Cameron of Virginia, brother Joseph Lucarelli of NY and sister Rosemary Puszkarczuk of Swansboro.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday December 28th at The Good Samaritan Funeral Home in Denver, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National kidney foundation.
Clinton Thomas Fier
Clinton Thomas Fier, 70, of Denver, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2019, at the Carolina Caring Hospice House, after a long battle with illness.
Clint was born in Akron, Ohio on October 15, 1949 and attended Ellet High School. He worked as a window salesman but his true passions were fishing, carpentry, and of course, his family. He met his wife, Amy in 1974, and they were married on January 8, 1977 They were married for 43 wonderful years.
Clint is survived by his loving wife Amy, his daughter Ann (Shaun), son Adam (Lindsay) , three beautiful grandchildren, Hannah, Paul and Adelyn, his sisters Cevan and Claudia, and brother Curt. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Fier, and father, James Fier.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 21, at 12 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Denver, NC, with the Funeral Mass following at 1. Father Carmen Malacari will be officiating.

LaVon Payseur Keener
LaVon Payseur Keener, age 81, of Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at Long Shoals Wesleyan Church with Pastor Jon Mann and Rev. Dr. Dwayne W. Keener, Chaplain, Lt. Col. USAF retired officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
LaVon was born September 27, 1938, in Lincoln County, to the late Lawrence and Mary Hoffman Payseur. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, L.E. Payseur and Herman Payseur; and three sisters, Marie Smith, Cleo Chapman, and Dorothy Richard. She served on the NC West DBA of the Wesleyan Church for fifteen years; served as the CYC Director of the NC West District for twenty-five years; and for 41 years, she was the secretary for Long Shoals Wesleyan Church and Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy and Childcare. LaVon was also a Sunday School teacher and loved her church and most importantly, the Lord.
Her surviving family members include her husband of 60 years, two months, six days, and two hours, Milton Eurey Keener of the home; two sons, Dwayne Keener(Donna) of ND, and Tim Keener (Donna) of Lincolnton; daughter, Fonda K. Cooper of Lincolnton; six granddaughters, Deanna Keener of ND, Danae K. Crompton (Tyler) of FL, Megan Cooper (T.C. Rollings) of Statesville, Timmons Keener of Lincolnton, Lydia K. Elmore (Henry) of Lincolnton, and Victoria LaVon Wilson of Lincolnton; and one great-grandson, Mason Rollings of Statesville.

John David Flowers, Sr., age 83, of Peak Resources in Gastonia, died on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
John was born January 13, 1936, in Catawba County, to the late Charles Clem Flowers and Virginia Prue Reep Flowers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Smith. He was a salesman. He was a long-time member of the Masons and Shriners.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Lee McIntire Flowers of Cherryville; two sons, John David Flowers, Jr., of Vale, and Steven Lee Flowers (Lori) of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Lori Ann Flowers of Cherryville; a brother, Charles Flowers; a sister, Margaret Kirby of Hudson; two grandchildren, Jessica Flowers and Danielle Flowers; and one great-grandchild, Marlee June McPherson.

Shirley Ann Williams, age 84, of Miners Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, December 19, 2019.

Mrs. Williams was born January 12, 1935, in Lincoln County, to the late Walt and Almetta Abernathy Summey. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Henderson Williams. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Teets of Maiden, Brenda Williams of Lincolnton, Almetta White (Jerry) of Iron Station, and Marsha Beal of Gastonia; a brother, Roger Summey of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Sue was born October 29, 1945, in Gaston County, to the late Harvey and Hazel Mullis Cherry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Rhyne. She worked for CommScope.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Edward Fowler, Jr. of the home; two sons, Todd Fowler (Sheila) of Crouse, and Telly Fowler (Nancy) of Lincolnton; a daughter, Tabatha F. Curtis (Tony Allen) of Lincolnton; a brother, Harvey Cherry “Eddie” of Lincolnton; a sister, Cathy Mathis of Seneca, SC; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and beloved life-long friends, Donny and Elaine Sanborn.
