William ‘Bill’ Graham
William ‘Bill’ Graham, better known as ‘Preacher’ passed away on Friday April 5, 2019 in Stanley, NC. Born in Klamath Falls, Oregon to James and Freda Graham on February 29, 1936, Preacher grew up in Silverton, Oregon and eventually settled in Massachusetts. After retirement he enjoyed life in Virginia and the Florida Keys before moving to North Carolina to be closer to his family. A veteran of the United States Army, as a young man Preacher was an active water skier and he had a passion for motorcycles throughout his life. Preacher was an honored brother of the Vigilantes Motorcycle Club. He is survived by sons Rob and Roy, daughters Bonny Graham, Shovaun Marler (Matt) of Dallas, NC and Jessie Brady (Bryan) of Woodstock, Connecticut, six grandchildren Kristina Graham, Cullen Lowell, Colton and Zachary Marler, Isla and Carys Brady, 3 great grandchildren, sister Hazel Hird of Salem, OR. Preacher was proceeded in death by his parents, a sister Elnora Kandle, brothers Lloyd and Bob, and by his son, Clay.

Phyllis Abernathy Friday
Phyllis Abernathy Friday, age 77, of Lincoln Street in High Shoals, died on Thursday, April 4, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at First Baptist Church of High Shoals with Rev. Doug McClain officiating. Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:45 until 2:45 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Friday was born October 31, 1942, in Gaston County, to the late Henry and Beulah Morris Abernathy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley. Phyllis worked for Mohican Mills for 45 years where she was an inspector. She was Mayor Pro-tem on the City Council of High Shoals, as well as the owner of Phyllis Catering of High Shoals.
She is survived by her husband, Lamar Friday of the home; a daughter, Angie Setzer, and husband Nathan, of Lincolnton; stepsons, Jeff Friday, and wife Lynette, of Lincolnton, Barry Friday, and wife Tabatha, and Kevin Friday, and wife Charlotte, all of Gastonia; sister, Frances McConnell of Vale; nine grandchildren, Colby Setzer, Cori Setzer, Christen Setzer, Scott Friday, Christopher Friday, Cameron Friday, Matthew Friday, Noah Friday, and Savannah Bell; and great-grandchildren, Carleigh and Chandler Setzer, and Emmaline and Emeri Friday.

Brian Edward Greer, age 48, of Walker Branch Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April11, 2019 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Franklin Lowery, Rev. Clay Ledford and Doug Guess officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Greer was born June 28, 1970, in Gaston County. He was the assistant manager of the City Lunch Restaurant in Lincolnton.
He is survived by his wife, Lorna Greer of the home, a daughter, Brittany Greer of Mobile, AL, his mother, Lynette Dellinger Greer of Lincolnton; one sister, Angie Greer Andrade and husband Ron of Lincolnton; mother-in-law, Irene O’Donald of Scotland; sister-in-law, Debbie Dodge and family of England; two brother-in-law’s, Barry Robinson and Scott Robinson of Denver.

Henry “Buck” Schronce, Jr., 85 of Newton passed away April 4, 2019.
The funeral service was held April 7, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Living Word Church in Maiden. Burial will follow in Maiden City Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service from 2 – 2:45 p.m. at the church.
