 Roselda (Rose) Stevens

Roselda (Rose) Stevens, age 91, of Carillon Assisted Living in Lincolnton, and formerly of New Port Richey, Florida passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

 A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Pisgah United Methodist Church, 2582 Gastonia Highway, Lincolnton with Rev. Sarah Underwood and Rev. Charles Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the of the church following the service.

 Mrs. Stevens was born December 8, 1927 in Cumberland, New Jersey to the late George and Elda Herbert. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B Stevens, Jr, two brothers and 1 sister. Mrs. Stevens worked in retail and retied while living in Florida.

 Survivors include two sons, Charles B Steven, III and wife Pat of Lincolnton and Bryon Stevens and wife Peg of Meridian, Idaho, three granddaughters and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Verna Bradway and husband Benny, and Darlin Riggin and husband Dick and Morris Herbert.

 Mrs. Joyce Noleen Rudisill Icard

Mrs. Joyce Noleen Rudisill Icard, age 82, of Lincolnton, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Monday, April15, 2019 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Southside Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday night from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Icard was born November 22, 1936, in Lincoln County to the late Gaston Paul and Lillian Sain Rudisill.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gene Roland Icard, Sr., and two sisters, Earleen Johnson and Jean Carpenter.  She was retired from the furniture industry.

She is survived by her three sons, Ronnie Icard, Roland Icard, Jr. and Jimmy Icard all of Lincolnton; two daughters, Debbie I. Weathers and Amy I. Bradshaw of Lincolnton; one sister, Marilyn R. Auton of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Brandy Icard, Chris Sandoval, Jay Icard and Tiffany Weathers and six great-grandchildren.

Carolyn Rash Smith

Carolyn Rash Smith, age 78, of Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Spencer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:15 until 2:45 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Smith was born June 17, 1940, in Gaston County, to the late Fred Jennings Rash and Mary Sue Yarboro Rash.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Merlyn Ray.  Carolyn was a registered nurse and was a very active member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Franklin Smith of the home; two sons, Nathan Smith, and wife Janet, of Galax, VA, and Jeff Smith, and wife Lisa, of Lincolnton; a brother, Norman Rash of Lincolnton; a sister, Mary Sue Scronce of Lincolnton; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the missions of The United Methodist Women at Asbury United Methodist Church, PO Box 676, Lincolnton, NC  28093.

William Ronald “Ron” Gribbins

William Ronald “Ron” Gribbins, age 72, of Pine Tree Street in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Pastor Wesley Ingle officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. at the church. 

Mr. Gribbins was born June 27, 1946, in Richmond County, to the late William Harry Gribbins and Colleen Perkins Gribbins.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Gribbins; a son, William Eric Gribbins; and a brother, Michael Gribbins.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and then later worked for General Shoelace where he was plant manager.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Isabel Rojas Gribbins of the home; two sons, Jason Gribbins, and wife Crystal, of Concord, and Scott Gribbins, and wife Angela, of Denver; three grandsons, Matthew, Jonathan, and Andrew; three granddaughters, Madison, Sydney, and Mabella; and a brother, Jeff Gribbins, and wife Lisa, of South Carolina.

Marshall Franklin Schronce

Marshall Franklin Schronce, age 83, of Will Schronce Road in Iron Station, died on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mr. Schronce was born November 30, 1935, in Catawba County, to the late Grover Henry Scronce and Eva Mae Smith Scronce.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Carrie Lee Reep, Robert Scronce, and G.H. “Junior” Schronce.  Marshall served in the United States Navy, and then worked as a greenskeeper. 

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Norwood Schronce, of the home; three sons, Rocky Schronce of Lincolnton, Scott Schronce (Patti) and Reggie Schronce (Tisha) all of Iron Station; a daughter, Sissy Schronce Carpenter (Chris) of Lincolnton; a brother, A.Z. Schronce of Iron Station; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
