Billie Ann Hoyle, 81, of Shelby went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 4, 2019.

   She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Brown and husband Wendell of Iron Station, NC, two sons, Steve Costner and wife Carol, and Wesley Costner and wife Karen of Shelby, NC, 5 grandchildren Nathan Nejberger, Jessica Brown Henkel and husband Joe, Sarah Costner, Logan Costner, Landon Costner and wife Katelyn, 3 great grandchildren Anna Grace Henkle, Ella Rose Henkle, Henry Henkle, and a sister-in-law Louise Moore.

   Born on December 7, 1937, in Cleveland County, Billie was the daughter of the late Wesley and Sarah Gordon Moore and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Russell Hoyle, and a brother Bob Moore.

   Mrs. Hoyle enjoyed camping at the beach with her late husband Russell. She also loved spending time with her family and making memories with her grandchildren. 

   Funeral services will be held at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 6, 2019. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. A burial will follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park.

Taltha Sain Scronce

Taltha Sain Scronce, age 97, of Vale, died on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Daniels Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Fox officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the church. 

Mrs. Scronce was born October 30, 1921.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Butler Scronce; a son, Gene Scronce; and daughter, Faye Brooks.  She was a cafeteria manager at Union School.

She is survived by daughter-in-law, Phyllis Scronce; five grandchildren, Renee Brooks, Terri McLean, Karen Kellett, (Jeff), Monique Scronce (Josh) Chris Scronce (Elaina); six great-grandchildren, Kara Oxendine, Kaycee Oxendine, Cameron Fabela, Conner Hanley, Houston Kline, and Butler Scronce; and three great-great-grandchildren, Trennon Fabela, Karson Oxendine, and Kayleigh Oxendine.

Richard James Lamberth, Sr.

Richard James Lamberth, Sr, age 86, of Cardinal Health Care, and formerly of Southmont Road in Iron Station, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2019, at Real Life Community Church with Rev. Johnny Caldwell, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Lamberth was born September 30, 1932, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Curtis and Ossie Medlin Lamberth.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice Owens Lamberth; daughter-in-law, Sherry Bowers Lamberth; son-in-law, Robert Eaton; granddaughter, Tisa Michelle Strickland Dellinger and her daughter, Payton Dellinger; a grandson, Daniel Lee McCaslin; a brother, Johnny Lamberth; and a sister, Libby Harris.  He worked in textiles and, in his free time, raised and loved his Beagles. 

He is survived by two sons, Richard James Lamberth, Jr. (Joyce) of Iron Station, and Gary Lamberth of Maiden; four daughters, Phyllis Lamberth Strickland of Lincolnton, Pamela Lamberth Eaton of Wilmington, Mary Lamberth McCaslin (Dennis) of Newton, and Amy Lamberth Barkley (Stanley) of Maiden; two brothers, Junior Lamberth of Belmont, and Theodore Lamberth of Santee Cooper, SC; two sisters, Shelby Jean Perkins of Iron Station, and Betty Allen of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mary Frances “Mert” Mosteller Kistler

Mary Frances “Mert” Mosteller Kistler, age 91, of Victory Grove Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will greet friends following the graveside service.

Mrs. Kistler was born August 11, 1927, in Lincoln County, to the late Henry and Cora Boyles Mosteller.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Flossie Smith, Elizabeth Lineberger and Jacqueline Hoffman Ballard; two brothers, Howard Mosteller and Dick Mosteller; and a daughter, Pat Kistler Fisher.  She worked in textiles.

She is survived by three brothers, Miller Mosteller, and wife Linda, Benny Mosteller, and wife Joyce, and Jerry Mosteller, and wife Kay, all of Lincolnton; two sisters, Ibera Setzer of High Shoals and Nancy Lee Beaver of Lincolnton; and two grandchildren, Marty Burris and Todd Burris.

 Gilda Elmore Saine

Gilda Elmore Saine, age 85, of Highway 182 in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Pastor Fred Mitschke officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. at the church. 

Mrs. Saine was born December 12, 1933, in Lincoln County, to the late Miles C. and Hilda Yoder Elmore.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Leonard Saine; two daughters, Dixie Lee Saine and Anne Yvonne Saine; and a sister, Jane Elmore.  She was a Worthy Maiden of the Eastern Star, a DAR member, N.C. State Champion – single and doubles ping pong in 1952, a member of the Daughters of Confederate Soldiers, and at the age of 11 she was a member of the Lincolnton Civil Defense during World War II. 

 She is survived by her son Wade Saine and wife, Lydia of Iron Station; two grandchildren, Russell L. Saine, and wife Charlotte, of Cary, and Marsha Anne Saine of Iron Station.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC  29605.

Gregory David Stamey, age 63, of Boyd Street in Maiden, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

Aaron Grooms officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019, at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Greg was born August 26, 1955, in Lincoln County, to the late Vance Samuel Stamey and Maude Alma Abernathy Stamey.  He was the owner and operator of East End Service Station in Maiden. 

He is survived by a son, Jeremi Stamey, and wife Haley, of Lincolnton; fiance’, Susie Nash of Maiden; brothers, Jerry Stamey, and wife Greer of Lincolnton, Bobby Stamey, and wife Gail, of Maiden, Alan Stamey, and wife Jodie, of Lincolnton, and twin brother, Tim Stamey of Lincolnton; and two grandchildren, Jaxon Stamey and Addison Goodnight.
