LINCOLNTON –Lincoln County emergency medical services were dispatched to an active structure fire on Feb. 28 at approximately 5:20 p.m. at the 2100 block of Fox Creek Trail, Lincolnton.
Lincoln County first responders encountered a 65-year-old female victim. The victim had life-threatening injuries and was treated by paramedics and other medical providers on the scene. The victim was transported to meet with air-medical services for further treatment but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries before they arrived. An additional Lincoln County EMS unit Medic 9 provided rehab and medical coverage until the fire was extinguished. Additional responding agencies included the Fire Marshal’s office, Lincoln County Sheriff’s office, Lincoln Fire Department, Crouse Fire Department, and South Fork Fire Department.
