The bulk of the meeting of the Lincoln County Board of Education on Tuesday, June 8, was spent in two hours of closed session which was held prior to the meeting was scheduled to start. A press release issued on Wednesday announced 13 new assistant principal assignments. Of these assignments, most were transfers from with the district. Three were new hires. 

The re-assignments/assignments are Regina Hovis being named assistant principal at Battleground Elementary.  Hovis previously served as assistant principal at Lincolnton High School. Jordan White being named assistant principal at GE Massey Elementary.  White previously served as assistant principal at Freedom High School in Morganton. Amy Fonseca being named assistant principal at Childers Elementary. Fonseca previously taught first grade at Pumpkin Center Primary. Sherri Davis being named assistant principal at S. Ray Lowder Elementary.  Davis previously served as assistant principal at Union Elementary. Kristen Burgin being named assistant principal at St. James Elementary. Burgin recently served as assistant principal at Childers Elementary. Anna Gilbert being named assistant principal at Union Elementary.  Gilbert previously taught third grade at Childers Elementary. Josh Henderson being named assistant principal at East Lincoln Middle. Henderson previously served as assistant principal at Battleground Elementary. Erin Selbe being named assistant principal at North Lincoln Middle.  Selbe previously worked as a Title 1 Facilitator with Gaston County Schools. Windy Bagwell being named assistant principal at West Lincoln Middle.  Bagwell previously served as the Media Coordinator at Kings Mountain Middle School. Stephanie Dellinger being named assistant principal at East Lincoln High. Dellinger previously served as assistant principal at St. James Elementary. Katrina Robinson being named assistant principal at Lincolnton High. Robinson previously served as assistant principal at East Lincoln Middle. Jesse Beane being named assistant principal at West Lincoln High. Beane previously served as the Athletic Director and Business Teacher at North Lincoln High. Traci Melton being named assistant principal at West Lincoln High. Melton previously served as assistant principal at North Lincoln Middle.

All of the Innovator Awards were staff members from North Brook Elementary School including Emily Green, Rebecca Boyles and Heidi Hullette. These three teachers implemented the annual Fairytale Ball held at the school for kindergarteners. Kelly Rudisill was also recognized for creation of the Peter Rabbit trial. Both of these events were covered by Times-News.

Multiple sports accomplishments were recognized as well. From East Lincoln High School, Benjamin Cutter, Paul Menegay, Jaxon Sellers, Payton Baker and Michael Freeman. From North Lincoln High School, Jack Carter. From West Lincoln High School, the women’s golf team, Brooke Beddingfield, Reese Coltrane, Laycee Hoffman, Leah Matney, Matthew Lytton and Mason Huitt.
