Kindergarten registration for the 2019-2020 school year opened Jan. 4 and runs through March 29. Parents must register their children who will turn five on or before Aug. 31 at the school they plan to attend. New first graders can also be registered during this time.

According to a press release from Lincoln County Schools, in order for a student to be registered, the following information must be presented: a certified copy of a birth certificate, two proofs of residency such as an active North Carolina driver’s license or photo ID issued by the DMV, a utility bill (not cell phones), lease agreement or real property tax bill, documentation of immunizations. A health assessment must be completed no later than 30 days after school begins. Parents or guardians are required to show picture ID when registering the student.

Lincoln County Schools recommends that parents of children who need immunizations or health assessments do so as soon as possible prior to the school year.

After registration, parents can schedule an appointment for Kindergarten Entry Screening at the school their child plans to attend. Screening dates and location are as follows:

G.E. Massey April 3, S. Ray Lowder April 4, Battleground April 5, Union April 8, Norris S.
