Ashley Lynn Brown and Darren Shawn Smith were married November 19, 2011 at The Preserve Resort Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Rev. Tom Brooks officiated the 12 noon ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dale and Revonda Brown of Vale and the granddaughter of Bill and Shirley Baker and Furman and Opal Brown. She is a homeschool graduate and attended Gaston College. She currently manages the family business at R&L Grocery.

The groom is the son of Jimmy Conley of Longview and Perry and Denise Elliott of Hildebran and the grandson of James and Mickey Smith. He is an East Burke graduate and a graduate from Fruitland Baptist Institute. He is employed at Wal-Mart Distribution Center.

Ashley was given in marriage by her father Dale Brown. Maid of honor was Mindy Brown, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kali Brown, sister of the bride, Hannah Brown, sister of the bride, and Molly Brown sister of the bride. Junior Bridesmaid was Jessie Hester.

The best man was the groom’s stepfather, Perry Elliott. Groomsmen were Matt Holman, friend of the groom, Chris Hadden, brother-in-law of the bride, and James Smith, groom’s grandfather. Junior Groomsman was David Watkins.

Flower girls were Kaley Smith, groom’s niece and Rylie Hadden, bride’s niece. The Ring Bearer was Dustin Brown, nephew of bride. Music was performed by Gary Watkins.

A reception was held at Brandon’s Lodge in Gatlinburg, Tenn. hosted by the bride’s parents. A rehearsal dinner was held at Brandon’s Lodge in Gatlinburg, Tenn. hosted by the bride’s parents.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn. the couple will reside in Vale.
