50th Anniversary

Janie Edwards Merchant and Francis Wayne Merchant of Conover celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 22, 2015. They met at Mars Hill College and were married on August 22, 1965 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church, Whittier. Their children are Melanie Merchant Dickinson and husband, Darren, of Hickory and Todd Edward Merchant and wife, Mandy, of Sherrills Ford. They have one grandson, Spencer Edward Dickinson of Hickory. Wayne retired from Duke Energy Corp. in Charlotte. Janie retired from Carolinas Medical Center-Main in Charlotte. They are members of Mt. Pleasant UMC, Sherrills Ford. Wayne and Janie enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and their second home in Myrtle Beach. They are very thankful for all of their family, friends and especially for these 50 years (and hopefully many more) together.
