About Us

The beginnings of the Lincoln Times-News date back to 1873, with the establishment of the Lincoln County News. A few years later, in 1907, the Lincoln Times began publication. These two newspapers merged in 1965, forming the Lincoln Times-News.

Today the paper is published Monday, Wednesday and Friday for afternoon distribution. It circulates throughout Lincoln County, where home delivery is available, as well as in limited portions of Gaston and Catawba counties.

The Lincoln Times-News focuses primarily on news about the people of Lincoln County, North Carolina, and secondarily on news about the state, nation and world that affects or is of interest to local readers. The Times-News has been recognized by the North Carolina Press Association in recent years for outstanding investigative reporting and commentary. The Times-News is also the publisher of legal notices for Lincoln County.

Our office is located at 117-120 West Water Street in downtown Lincolnton and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information about advertising, subscriptions or news coverage, call 704-735-3031
