Chapman is area coach of the year From staff reports December 16, 2002 - VALE — West Lincoln baseball coach Allan Chapman has been named Region VI Coach of the Year by North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association. Chapman led West Lincoln to a 23-7 record and a second-place finish in the Midwest 2-A Conference. His team reached the third round of the state playoffs. “I’m honored,” he said, “being from the area with many distinguished coaches. It’s a privilege that I was chosen. “It’s a testament to the quality players we’ve had in the last four years here at West Lincoln,” Chapman said. “Good players make coaching easy.” Five players from last year’s team are playing college baseball.
