East Lincoln baseball beats Hunter Huss

David Rue tossed a five-hitter and had a two-run single in the seventh to lead East Lincoln to a 6-4 win at Hunter Huss Wednesday.

In a game that was a pitchers’ duel for six innings, East scored five runs in the seventh and held off Huss.

Rue’s twin Michael came up big in the seventh with a two-run double.

East had other big contributors in the victory. Matthew McIntosh went 2-for-4. Josh Hamby had a hit, a steal a sacrifice an scored two runs.

In the field, Michael rue and Isiah Lindsey came sparkling plays to save runs.

 

Lincolnton boys tennis falls

Shelby, the defending 2A state duals champions, didn’t give Lincolnton any break Wednesday.

The Golden Lions beat the Wolves 7-2.

The Devin High got the lone single win while Jimmy Thackson and Will Setser teamed up to in a doubles match.
