Briefs - February 27, 2002 LHS boys tennis wins Lincolnton boys tennis team won its season opener 6-3 at South Point. No. 1 Patrick Fletcher, No. 2 John James, No. 4 Joseph Allender and No. 6 Jimmy Thackston all won their singles matches. The Wolves’ doubles wins came from Will Setzer-Thackston and A. Allender-High.
Lincoln County Bassmasters tournament Jeff Walls won the Lincoln County Bassmasters February Tournament Saturday, He reeled in a catch of 10 pounds 13 ounces in the Lake Wylie event. Doug McClure finished second with 9 lbs-1 oz. James Martin (7 lbs. 15 oz.), Aaron Dixon (7 lbs. 15 oz.) and James Martin (3 lb, 11 oz) finished out the top five.
