Briefs - February 25, 2002 BASKETBALL: Lincolnton girls basketball team will host Mitchell in the first round of the state 2A basketball playoffs tonight at 7 p.m. WRESTLING: There were five wrestlers from the area that competed in the state individual wrestling championships. East Lincoln’s Nick Smith came in third place in the 3A 171 weight class. West Lincoln’s Cory Norman and Aaron Terry made the consolation semi-finals in their divisions while Joshua Hullette made it to the consolation second round. Lincolnton’s Chris Williams went all the way to the consolation third round.
