Published January 16, 2004

By Special to the LTN, ANGEL WATSON

————————————

Lady Chiefs Move to 3-0 with a win over Falcons. West Lincoln Middle School defeated the East Lincoln Middle School Lady Falcons by a score of 45-9 on Monday in game action at East Lincoln.

The Chiefs again played great defense while picking up their third win of the season.

"Our success so far comes down to how we play on defense," stated Coach Angel Watson, "I have never coached a team that enjoys playing defense as much as offense, but this team does, and the defensive intensity creates success on both ends of the floor.”

“Sally (Logan) has really worked with the girls on help side defense and switching and they just really seem to enjoy playing on the defensive side of the ball," Watson said.

Leading the Chiefs in scoring on Monday were Miranda Sigmon and Allison Johnson with seven points each, followed by Elle Tallent and Beth Pittman with six. Kayda Caldwell and Sarah Norman added five each in the effort, followed by Whitney Ellis with four, Elizabeth Stoffa with three, Kindell Houser with two, and Carolyn Costner with one.
