January 1, 2003 - DENVER — The Lincolnton boys were the most successful Lincoln County team in the First Charter Holiday Classic, earning a
third-place finish in the tournament Monday night with a 67-54 win over Bandys.

LHS won five matches by forfeit. Cherryville won five of the seven other matches.

East's Wills commits to Montreat
|
|
|
|
January 10, 2003 - East Lincoln's Tamira Wills has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Montreat College Wednesday morning.
With her were Montreat coach Joe Hagan and her parents, Linda and Tom Wills.
Tamira Wills played for Durham high schools before tearing her ACL (knee Ligament). She has not played for East Lincoln this year. At Northern Durham, she shot 44 percent from the 3-point line. January 15, 2003 - CHERRYVILLE — Cherryville Hall of Fame will induct 11 new members.
Baseball is and always has been the No. 1 sport in this Gaston town of 5,000.
And on Saturday night at Cherryville Country Club, three pitchers who have left their mark on the diamond in Cherryville will be inducted into the Cherryville
Sports Hall of Fame.

teams Tuesday night.
But East teams just couldn’t seal the kiss.
The Lady Mustangs closed with in four points of South Point with two minutes to play but only to fall 53-45.
