back with a pair of wins.
Jeremy Parker drained the nets for 19 point to lead the Rebels to a 81-57 whipping of Chase.

Jan. 28, 2002 - GASTONIA — The Ashbrook Green Wave proved it was the cream of the crop in the Big South 3A Conference with a convincing
73-44 in over East Lincoln Friday play.
Ashbrook (16-1, 7-0), did it with a balanced scoring attack to defeat the Mustangs (10-6, 3-4).

The Wolves went into a Tuesday night home game against East Rutherford with a three-game winning streak and an opportunity to be 5-2 at the

With new head coach Jim Prevost, the Mustangs as of last week have posted a 8-10 record.
But that’s despite losing 16 wrestlers from the start of the season.

Jan. 18, 2002 - DENVER — The Pumpkin Center boys and girls basketball teams both beat their
arch rival, Each Lincoln Middle Thursday.
Both games were hard fought.
In the boys game, Lance Friday hit the game-winning basket with 29 seconds left then he secured a missed shot by East.

Justice and others will be inducted into Saturday’s Cherryville Sports Hall of Fame
Former UNC running back, Charlie “Choo Choo” Justice will receive an honorary induction in the Cherryville Sports Hall of Fame Saturday night.
Justice, who also starred in the Washington Redskins’ backfield, has owned an insurance company here for years.

The sophomore guard hit eight of nine free throws, including six straight in the final two minutes, as Lincolnton held on to beat Shelby 54-51 Tuesday night at home.
