Singing Christmas Tree

Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stanley will host a performance of “Joy to the Christ Child,” a singing Christmas tree with a 50-voice community choir. The musical program will be Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday
at 3 p.m. A hand bell prelude will be followed by musical selections. Admission is free.

Christ’s Stanley is located on N.C. 27 approximately 15 miles west of Charlotte, 203 South Main Street, Stanley. For more information call the church office at 704-263-2621.

 

Cat Square Parade

The 30th annual Cat Square Christmas Parade will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. Voting for Mayor of Cat Square and Miss Cat Square is taking place now through Saturday at Cat Square Superette.

 

Cherryville Parade

The Cherryville Parade will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.

 

Choral Program

The Lincoln Choral Guild will present its annual Christmas program Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Lincoln Cultural Center. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and students. For details call 704-732-9055.

 

Carriage Rides

The Downtown Development Association will host horse-drawn carriage rides Friday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. Participants will begin their ride at the Lincoln Cultural Center and tour the downtown area. Ticket prices range from $5 to $10 per person. To make reservations, call 704-736-8915.

 

Pops Concert

The North Carolina Symphony will perform Thursday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. at the Citizens Center. For ticket information call 704-735-7940.

 

See Santa

Santa Claus will be at his home away from home — in front of the Lincoln Cultural Center on Cedar St. — Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec. 20.
