What do water buffalo, mosquito netting and Christmas ornaments have in common? All can be purchased Sunday afternoon at the Lincoln County Family YMCA.
The fourth annual Alternative Christmas Market and will be held at the from 12:30 until 3 p.m., sponsored by First Presbyterian Church.
Many hand-crafted items will be sold with money going to people in third world countries.
For more tangible gift-giving, Ten Thousand Villages will have a wide variety of jewelry, Christmas ornaments, bowls, baskets, purses and wood carvings hand-made by people in third
world poverty areas. A majority of the money goes back to them and in some cases is their main income for survival.
Local mission projects will also be represented: Christian Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, Amy痴 House, and more.
Refreshments will be available, and a live band will perform during the event.
