Remembering and mourning lives lost on 9/11
Thursday marked the second anniversary of the day the United States came under attack. Thousands of lives were lost in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, and American life
changed forever.
Through the pain and the struggle to understand, Americans and Lincoln County residents came together to grieve and try to move on. Ceremonies, memorials and observances were held.
Those same events were held Thursday. Children and adults heard messages from families of the victims broadcast on radio and TV. American flags were lowered to half-staff, and area
schools held programs and focused some lesson plans on the value of living in the United States.
