West Lincoln Middle School recently announced its list of top students within the Reading Counts program for the 2002-03 school year.
Students took computer tests on books they read and could accumulate points based on their knowledge of the books. Those who earned a certain amount of points received rewards such as
pencils, pens, water bottles and a pizza lunch.
Students earning 500 or more points spent a day helping the principal and received a trophy and special recognition.
WLMS’s top readers for 2002-03 were:
· Patrick Welch, sixth grade, 652 points.
· Laura McBryde, seventh grade, 580 points.
· Sadie Redding, sixth grade, 545 points.

· Nicki Walker, sixth grade, 516 points.
· Beth Beaver, eighth grade, 512 points.
