Lincolnton poet gets published July 19, 2002 - Lincolnton poet Angela Friday’s work has been published in “Passages in Time,” a collection of verse. Friday’s poem “Go Ahead and Show Love” appears on page 9 of the 20-page book. The book was published by JMW Publishing in Missouri and has been distributed to college libraries. “I’m really excited about it,” Friday said. She began writing last year while recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Her work deals with both good and bad — racism, recovery, substance abuse, domestic violence and gratitude for God’s blessings. She recently spoke at A Woman’s Moment conference at the Oaklawn Community Center. Friday lives in Lincolnton where she works at an area textile plant.
