On April 12 a Western-themed barbecue was held in honor of the Cherryville, Lincolnton and Denver debutantes. All of the young women who
will be presented at the Western North Carolina Debutante Ball were invited. The parents of the Cherryville, Lincolnton and Denver debutantes hosted the party at the Laboratory Village home of Mr. and
Mrs. Scott Carpenter. White tents lit by candles, lanterns, and fairy lights were the focus of the gathering. The young ladies will be introduced to society in Shelby on June 14.
