The 4-H Electric Program teaches youth about science and math as they relate to electricity. Members can learn everything from the basics of electricity to how to wire a house.
A 4-H Electric Workshop was recently held to train area 4-H volunteers, 4-H staff and 4-H teen leaders how to teach the 2003 North Carolina 4-H Electric Activity. The workshop was
taught by Grant Ellington, Extension Associate with the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at North Carolina State University and Wayne Huddleston, with Duke Power.
4-H members across the state will learn about electricity and circuitry by making this year’s electric project, a mini siren. Members also have the opportunity to earn an all-expense
paid trip to North Carolina 4-H Electric Congress for participating in a 4-H Electric Project.
The 4-H Electric Program is sponsored by Duke Power, Progress Energy and Dominion North Carolina Power Companies.
To find out more about joining a 4-H Electric Club or volunteering, call the Lincoln County 4-H Office at 704-736-8458.
