Lincoln County 4-H recently recognized outstanding 4-H members at the 4-H Achievement and 4-H Fashion Revue and Talent Show programs.
The 2002 Outstanding Junior 4-H Member Award was presented to Anna Sigmon and Stephanie Ledford. The 2002 Outstanding Senior 4-H Member Award was presented to
Casey Wentz and Kelly Wentz.
Outstanding 4-H Clubs were the Bits N Bridles 4-H Horse Club and the Lincoln County 4-H Poultry Club.
Debbie Wentz was recognized as Outstanding Volunteer Club Leader and special recognition was given to Licoln County 4-H Poultry Club Leaders, Betsy Okonski and
Elizabeth Snyder.
A Community Service Award was presented to the 4-H Explorers Junior Club, Lincoln County 4-H Poultry Club and the Bits and Bridles 4-H Horse Club.
Fashion show participants and winners who constructed their own garments were as follows:
In the Cloverbud division, Rebecca DeGregory made a dress, and she also made a skirt for her sister, Sarah.
Chelsea Mills made a dress and Rebcca Parsons made a dress.
In the Pre-Teen division, Karin Okonski placed first with a dress, and Kristin Okonski placed second with a dress. In the Early Teen division, Emily Sherrill
placed first with a dress and jacket, and Holly Mills placed second with a peasant top and denim jeans.
In the Senior Teen division, Jennifer Sherrill placed first with a halter top, pants and coordinating jacket.
Kristin Okonski was awarded a pair of Gingher scissors for Junior Best of Show, and Jennifer Sherrill was awarded a Brother sewing machine for Teen Best of
Show Award. Jennifer Sherrill was also awarded a $125 scholarship to participate in the State 4-H Fashion Revue this summer by the Lincoln County Extension and Community Association.
Talent show acts were performed by Patrick Hinkle with guitar and solo; Stephanie Ledford with ballet; Hannah Reynolds with a solo. Anna Sigmon and Casey Wentz
gave a banjo and guitar performance; Casey Wentz with piano. The Lincoln County 4-H Poultry Club Members Aubrey Calloway, Penny Gales, Holly Mills, Karin Okonski, Kristin Okonski, John David Parsons and Casey Snyder
performed a skit and song.
Anna Sigmon, Casey Wentz and Patrick Hinkle were chosen as county talent winners to perform at the South West District 4-H Entertains event. The 4-H Poultry
Club was chosen as an alternate to perform at district.
