“LCECA Lights the Way to Volunteer Service” was the title to the Lincoln County Extension and Community
Association Volunteer Achievement night held on April 14. Extension Community Volunteers came together to fellowship and reflect on this year’s achievements.
Magician Rick Ramseur provided entertainment that kept ECA members and their guests laughing.
Amy Chilcote, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, saluted the ECA members with a power point presentation
entitled, “A Tradition in Giving.”
The old saying “If you want something done, get a club woman to do it” rang true as the focal points of
both state and county community service were highlighted.
The Awards ceremony began with Mary Hubbard, Hickory Grove ECA, presenting the Recognition of Clubs by
introducing all clubs and their members.
Amy Chilcote, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, presented the Outstanding Club Leadership Award.
The following members received this award: Mary Cox (Lowesville ECA), Louise Stoudemire (Boger City ECA),
Pinkie Mosteller (Long Shoals ECA), Ruby Chapman (Crouse ECA), Lib Beam (North Brook II ECA), and Columbus Turner (Hickory Grove ECA).
Kevin Starr, Cooperative Extension Director, presented the Most Outstanding Club leader Award to Ruby
Chapman of the Crouse ECA Club. Mickey Sigmon, Extension and Community Association County Council President, presented the Attendance Award to those members with perfect attendance in increments of five and 10 years.
Inez Carpenter of the Long Shoals ECA was recognized for achieving 15 years of volunteer service. Special
guests included Lincoln County School Board Members: George Dellinger, Fred Jarrett and his wife June, as well as Lincoln County Commissioners, Jerry Cochrane and his wife Evelyn, Carroll Mitchem, and Red Cross
Director Lou Ann Freshour.
