Competition honors writers
April 24, 2002 - The Lincoln Arts Council hosted an awards ceremony for winners of the 19th Annual Flo Robinson Literary Competition.
The event, held in the Timken Performance Hall of the Lincoln Cultural Center, was Thursday at 7 p.m.
Barrie Howard was the master of ceremonies. Jean Dellinger, Chair of the Lincoln County School Board, made a few remarks.
First, second, third place and honorable mention winners in each division read their entries.
Prize money and certificates were presented by Sherry Hoyle, director of elementary education with Lincoln County Schools.
The 2002 competition drew over 200 poetry and prose entries in four categories elementary school, middle school, high school and adult.
Judges for the competition were Lydia Dunn and Jane Yount, both of Vale.
