4-H’ers awarded during Achievement Night
Jan. 25, 2002 - Youth were recognized recently for completing 109 4-H project records and over 50 project exhibits during the annual 4-H Achievement Program.
Special recognition was given for outstanding leadership and achievement.
Winners included the following:
Outstanding Jr. 4-H member – Casey Wentz
Outstanding Sr. 4-H’ers – Dusty and Kelly Wentz
All are members of the Bits n Bridles 4-H Club.
Outstanding leaders were Janet Sherrill, leader of the 4-H Discovery Club, and Yvonne Reynolds, leader of the 4-H Performing Arts Club and 4-H Chorus.
The “I Dare You” awards went to Matthew Ballard of the 4-H Poultry Club and Jenni Moore from the 4-H Falcons Club.
Awards for the highest percent of records turned in for the year were shared by the Animal Explores, Bits n Bridles, Kids in Action and Cloverbud I clubs.
The County Council Officers elected were:
President – Jennifer Sherrill
Vice President – Hannah Reynolds
Secretary – Kristen Mason
Reporter – Casey Wentz
Historian – Dereck Sherrill
State 4-H Council Reporter Celeste Moore and Southwest District VP Dusty Wentz installed them.
Bank of America sponsors the awards for the 4-H achievement night. Dyra Eaker, representative of Bank of America, presented the award to each program winner.
