Born in Burke County, she was a homemaker and a member of Big Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Colman Tesseneer of Shelby and Yates Tesseneer Jr. of Lattimore; five daughters, Susan Tesseneer of
Casar, Bessie White of New House, Bright Carroll of Lincolnton, Dorcus Ledford and Patsy Swink both of Shelby; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
