DENVER — John Allen Michelozzi, 46, of 6700 Denver Heights Drive, died Dec. 9, 2003. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today at Burke
Mortuary Chapel in Newton. Burial followed in Eastview Cemetery.
He was born in Detroit, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Tonya Harkey Michelozzi of the home; three step-sons, Shannon Williams of Conover, Joseph Tolley and
Clinton Tolley both of Denver; two step-daughters, Jennifer Tolley of Denver and Christina Tolley of Sherrills Ford; his mother, Mary Michelozzi of Calif.; one sister, Diana Dobbs of Calif. and ten grandchildren.
Paul Beam
CHERRYVILLE — Paul M. Beam, 80, of 1721 Bess Chapel Church Road, died Dec. 9, 2003. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Bess
Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born in Gaston County, he was a retired driver from Carolina Freight Carriers, a WWII Army veteran, a member of the United Methodist
Men and served on various church committees.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Smith Beam of the home; two daughters, Rebecca Cline of Charlotte and Paulette Howell of
Cherryville; four grandchildren, Eric Devine, Julie Denton, Susan Cline and Wes Heavner; four great-grandchildren and three sisters, Flomary Schad of Phoenix, Ariz., Blanche Pragacz and Beth Beam both of Cherryville.

Bill Faircloth
SHERRILLS FORD — William “Bill” Murray Faircloth, 81, of 5094 Mallard Cove, died Dec. 11, 2003. Funeral services will be at 3:30
p.m. Saturday at Westport Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Born in Iredell County, he was a retired barber and a US Navy veteran.
Survivors include one son, James Faircloth of Denver; three brothers, Leslie Faircloth of Statesville, Fred Faircloth of Ft.
Lauderdale, Fla. and Calvin Faircloth of Clearlake, Calif.; two sisters, Mattie Stewart of Taylorsville and Helen Sanford of Maiden; two grandchildren, Michael Faircloth and Michelle Faircloth and four
great-grandchildren.

IRON STATION — Henry Albert Varner, 94, of 5410 Vesuvius Furnace Road, died Dec. 11, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Amity Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 tonight at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Lincoln County, he was retired from JP Stevens.
Survivors include one son, Harry Varner of Lincolnton; two daughters, Macie Brown of Belmont and Joyce McCumbee of Iron Station; two
sisters, Lottie Christopher of Iron Station and Flora Reinhardt of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, Randey Brown, Rodney Brown, Greg Varner, Jennifer Varner and Megan Varner; four great-grandchildren and three great
great-grandchildren.

CALIFORNIA — Lucille S. Young, 98, of Escondido, Calif., died Nov. 25, 2003. Funeral services were Dec. 3 at Cornerstone Church of
Escondido. Burial followed at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Born in Rockford, W. Va., she was a retired telephone sales representative for May Company.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Cool of Lincolnton; Glenna Bobbio of Escondido and Priscilla Galvin of San Marco; 11
grandchildren, James, Timothy, James, Gary, Pamela, Lou Ann, Leonard, Kathleen, Kenneth, Kristine and Kevin; 18 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
Louise Gladden
Louise Jarvis Gladden, 84, of East Hoke St., died Dec. 12, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Born in Raleigh, she was a retired nurse from Crowell Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Billie Guy of Fayetteville and Jill Goins of Lincolnton; one brother, Earl Jarvis of Lincolnton;
two sisters, Lillian Edwards of Hickory and Kathleen Rice of Lincolnton; one granddaughter, Cammie O’Brien and one great-granddaughter.
