Wilvie Turbyfill

MAIDEN — Wilvie McKelvie Ewing Turbyfill, 88, of 4721 East Maiden Road, died Dec. 7, 2003. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Center View Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born in Lincoln County.

Survivors include one daughter, Pat Saunders of Sherrills Ford; one son, Terry Turbyfill of Newton; four grandchildren, Larry Saunders Jr., Mark Saunders, Garret Turbyfill and Beth Turbyfill; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer Saunders, Grayson Saunders, Madison Saunders, Katelyn Turbyfill and Megan Turbyfill; one brother, Darrell Ewing of Charlotte and one sister, Van Buren E. Sawyer of Mt. Holly.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 1409, Lincolnton, NC 28093.

Burke Mortuary in Maiden is in charge of arrangements.

 

Cleo Goble

MAIDEN — Cleo Elizabeth Killian Goble, 92, of 3236 Pond Road, died Dec. 8, 2003. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Maiden Church of God, where she was a member. Burial followed in Mt. Anderson Baptist Church cemetery.

She was born in Catawba County.

Survivors include one brother, Sam Killian of Conover and three sisters, Bernice Hedrick and Nellie Auton both of Maiden and Shirley Parker of Newton.

Memorials may be made to Maiden Church of God, 107 N. 3rd Avenue, Maiden, NC 28650.

Burke Mortuary in Maiden is in charge of arrangements.

 

Johnnie Schenck

IRON STATION — Johnnie Russell Schenck, 78, died Dec. 4, 2003.

Born in Rutherford County, he was retired from Mohican Mills, a member of Tuckers Grove United Methodist Church and a military veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Schenck of the home; one daughter, Rebecca Barnes of Iron Station; one son, Jimmie Elmore of Shelby; two brothers, Ernest Schenck and Joe Schenck both of Stanley; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Withrow’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Lou Sipe

DALLAS — Martha Louise “Lou” Sansing Sipe, 70, of 102 Sipe Road, died Dec. 8, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hardin Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight at Carothers Funeral Home.

Born in Gaston County, she was retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital and a charter member of Stanley Junior Womens Club.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Sipe; one son, Stephen Sipe of Lincolnton; one daughter, Tammy Bowles of Dallas and three grandchildren, Meghan Sipe, Brandon Bowles and Christian Bowles.

Memorials may be made to Hardin Baptist Church, Hardin Road, Dallas, NC 28034.

 

Harry Dellinger

CHERRYVILLE — Harry Lee Dellinger Jr., 46, of 155 Old Fallston Road, died Dec. 8, 2003. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial will be at the convience of the family. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 tonight at Carpenters Funeral Home.

Born in Cleveland County, he was self employed.

Survivors include his wife, Crystal Elgin Dellinger of the home; three sons, Jermichael Dellinger of Cherryville, Keith Dellinger of Las Cruces, NM and Ranger Stephen Dellinger serving in Iraq; one step-son, Derek Vause Jr. of Lincolnton; two daughters, Stephanie Dellinger and Crystal Dellinger both of Cherryville; two sisters, Pam Hall and Dottie Ervin both of Cherryville and one grandson, Brian Dellinger.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.

 

A.C. Dellinger

CHERRYVILLE — A.C. Dellinger, III, 20, of Dana Drive, died Dec. 8, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenters Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Born in Lincoln County, he was employed by Tim Broome Construction Company and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, A.C. and Donna Dellinger of Crouse; mother and step-father, Loretta and Bryce Totherow of Dallas; paternal grandparents, A.C. and Mary Dellinger of Cherryville; maternal grandparents, Norman and Lora Penley of Dallas; one brother, Norman Dellinger of Crouse; one step-brother, Barry Totherow of Lincolnton; three sisters, Inez Dellinger and Patsy Dellinger both of Dallas and Angel Dellinger of Crouse and one step-sister, Ashley Black of Crouse.

 

Mozelle Costner

OHIO — Mozelle Carpenter Costner, 93, of Toledo, Ohio, died Dec. 7, 2003. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Church.

She was born in Lincoln County.

Survivors include one son, Robert Costner; one sister, Virginia Wyont; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, 506 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Warlick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

John Michelozzi

John Michelozzi, 46, died Dec. 9, 2003.

Arrangements are incomplete at Burke Mortuary in Newton.

 

Ethel Dellinger

IRON STATION — Ethel Bradshaw Dellinger, 85, of 5832 E. Hwy. 27, died Dec. 9, 2003. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Born in Lincoln County, she was a retired textile employee and a member of Alexis Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Hall Dellinger of the home; two sons, Ed Dellinger of Milledgeville, Ga. and Jack Dellinger of Easley, SC; three daughters, Linda Walker of Lincolnton, Judy McDermott of Little Torch Key, Fla. and Phoebe Bragg of Chula Vista, Calif.; one brother, JE Bradshaw of Iron Station; five grandchildren, Kimberly Allen, Ericka Carswell, Kenneth Dellinger, Megan Dellinger and Benjamin Dellinger and three great-grandchildren, Davey Allen, Jacob Allen and Jackson Carswell.
