Mamie Greene

GASTONIA — Mamie Kimble Green, 83, died Dec. 1, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel at Ward Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Born in Gaston County, she was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and was retired from Pharr Yarns after 15 years of service.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice G. Johnson of Iron Station; two grandchildren, William Lee Johnson Jr. and Bunni Johnson-Tucker; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105; or the Alzheimer’s Association, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28215.

 

Susan Jolly

CHERRYVILLE — Susan Froneberger Jolly, 42, of 705 Mauney Street, died Dec. 2, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Born in Cleveland County, she was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Allan Jolly of Cherryville; one daughter, Kristy Choate of Cherryville; her mother, Nellie Russ Froneberger Cornwell of Lincolnton; two brothers, Mike Froneberger of Cherryville and Gary Froneberger of Crouse; one sister, Cathy Black of Surfside, S.C.; and one grandchild, Riley Choate.

Moses Shuford

Moses Shufod, 70, of 15 Chapman St., died Dec. 1, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel at Ebony & White’s Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.

Born in Lincoln County, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, and attended the Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include his daughter, Mattie Louise Shuford of the home; one sister, Ollie Myers of Charlotte; and three grandchildren.

 

G.M. Reinhardt Jr.

George Milton Reinhardt Jr., 58, of 1538 Buck Oak Road, died Dec. 1, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church where he was a member. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8 in the chapel at Ebony & White’s Funeral Service.

Born in Lincoln County, he was employed with Gaston County Dye for 19 years.

Survivors include his wife, Frankie B. Reinhardt; one daughter, Melody Reinhardt of Lincolnton; his mother, Bernice Reinhardt of Lincolnton; four sisters, Brenda Stover, Kay Pulley, Cynthia Darnell Reinhardt, and Janet Slacks, all of Lincolnton; and one grandchild.

 

Joel Bondurant Jr.

Joel Marvin “Joe” Bondurant Jr., 80, of 115 Wendover Drive, died Dec. 2, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.

Born in Forsyth County, he was a U.S. Army veteran, and bookkeeper.

Survivors include his wife, Lelia S. Bondurant; two daughters, Cindy B. Sain of Lincolnton and Sharon K. Bondurant of the home; one brother, Jack Bondurant of Lincolnton; two sisters, Margaret Sain and Betty Mercier, both of Lincolnton; and two grandchildren, Nicole Sain and Allison H. Canipe.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, N.C. 28092.

David Porter

VACCAVILLE, Calif. — David Arden Porter, 39, died Nov. 25, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.

He was born in Providence, R.I.

 

Anna Reynolds

KINGS MOUNTAIN — Anna Lawing Reynolds, 101, of White Oak Manor, formerly of Lincolnton, died Dec. 2, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 until 8 at the funeral home.

Born in Catawba County, she was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church in Maiden, and a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Lynch of Shelby and Prue Kirkland of Douglas, Ga.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

 

James Coleman

James Howard Coleman, 64, of 2914 Gates Road, died Dec. 3, 2002. A funeral service and burial will be held at a later date in West Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Born in West Virginia, he was a coal miner.

Survivors include his wife, Della Mae Coleman; two sons, James C. Coleman and Danny Ray Coleman, both of Lincolnton; one daughter, Norma C. Hall of Lincolnton; one brother, Hershel Coleman of English, W. Va.; one sister, Joann Rife of Hurley, W.Va.; and seven grandchildren.

 

Lawrence Poole

IRON STATION — Lawrence Richard Poole, 75, of 3291 Jones Valley Trail, died Dec. 3, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Mt. Holly. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.

Born in Lincoln County, he was the retired owner of Poole Timber Co. in Iron Station.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Poole; two sons, Steve Poole and Don Poole, both of Iron Station; one brother, Horace Poole of Iron Station; one sister, Ada Lawing of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren, Shane Poole, David Poole, Sherry Taylor, Stephanie Poole, Michael Poole, Emily Poole, Owen Poole, and Ben Poole; and three great-grandchildren.
