Thomas Alvie Drum, 94, of 808 Hatchett Road, died Oct. 31, 2003. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at Ivey Memorial United
Methodist Church, where he was a member. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
He was born in Lincoln County.
Survivors include six daughters, Taltha Parker, Pansy Smith, Nancy Joesey, Joyce Hannon, Sharon Good all of Maiden and Judy Herron
of Lincolnton; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Jimmy Ballard
Jimmy Harrison Ballard, 71, of Lincolnton, died Oct. 31, 2003. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, he was retired from Ross & Witmer Company as a warehouse foreman.

Nathaniel Ballard; three brothers, Floyd Ballard of Denver, Arnold Ballard and Charlie Ballard both of Lincolnton; three sisters, Dot Lawing, Susie Campbell both of Stanley and Helen Robinson of Iron Station.

Born in Catawba County, he was a self employed cattle farmer, a member of the Catawba County Cattlemen’s Association, WWII U.S. Army
veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 16 and a retired fireman with the Newton Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Berryhill Coley of the home; three sons, Butch Coley, Wayne Thomas both of Newton and Jerry Thomas

Born in Lincoln County, he was a WWII U.S. Army veteran in the Aleutian Islands, retired from Carter Chevrolet Motors as a GM
certified mechanic, a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and served on the church council, member of Woodmen of the World and a former Scoutmaster.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Hartman Propst of the home; one son, Clyde Propst Jr. of Statesville; one daughter, Myra Kennedy
of Md. and two grandchildren, Tyler Propst of Greenville and Sarah Propst of Newton.
