MAIDEN — Coy Ree Auton, 90, of 913 E. Boyd St., died Oct. 23, 2003. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at East Maiden
Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial followed in St. Matthews United Methodist Church of Christ Cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post 240.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie Parker Auton of the home; one daughter, LaDonna Boyer of Charlotte; one foster-son, Chester Abee
of Murrells Inlet; one brother, Glenn Auton of Maiden; one sister, Ollie Teague of Conover; one grandson, Jon Williams and one granddaughter, Caroline Boyer.

MECKLENBURG — Annie “Anne” Mae Hannah Goddrum, 99, died Oct. 25, 2003. A service to celebrate her life will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight at the home of her son, Willis Goodrum.
Born in Iredell County, she was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church Senior Citizens Sunshine Club and Long Creek Chapter
151 Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, Willis Goodrum of Charlotte; one daughter, Mary Summers of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Kenneth
Goodrum, Allyson Boudreau and Ansley Anderson; and eight grandchildren.

Born in Canton, Ohio, she was a caregiver in the home health field.

Southport; one step-son, Jerry Black Jr. of Lincolnton and two grandchildren.

Sunday.
He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and a self-employed maintenance worker.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rick Beers of Vicksburg, Mich. and Mrs. Daniel Featherstone Jr. of Blowing Rock; two brothers,
Tom Hurley of Newton and Bill Hurley of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Minister Mary Willis Thompson, 64, of 316 Jennings St., died Oct. 24, 2003. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Link’s
Chapel AME Zion Church, where she was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a retired C.N.A. from the Brian Center.
