Born in Catawba County he was a State Employee retiree and a member of the American Legion Post 16 and a World War II U.S. Army
veteran.
Survivors include his wife Helen Almetta Davis Overcash of the home; one step-son, Tony Davis of Newton; one step-grandson, Matt
Davis of Newton; one step-granddaughter, Holly Davis of Newton; three grandsons and several great-grandchildren.

Pamela H. Lybrand, 50, of Lincoln County, died June 4, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at McEwen Charlotte Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
Born in Mecklenburg County she was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and was associated with the William M. Mercer Corporation for
12 years.
Survivors include her husband, John “Mickey” Lybrand; father, Fred D. Hoke of Huntersville and mother, Miriam Hall of Charlotte; two
brothers, Freddie Hoke of Charlotte and Rick Hall of Spruce Pines; one sister, Donna Choate of Charlotte; two sons, Patrick Collins and Jonathan Lybrand both of Charlotte; two daughters, Aimee Balfour and Maggie
Roberts both of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Jessica Collins, Heather Collins and Avery Balfour.

ALEXIS — Joe Ann Smith Hager, of 2022 Mt. Zion Church Road, died June 5, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she was a member.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 tonight at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
She was a substitute teacher for several years. Most recently she was employed as a teacher assistant, a Sunday School
teacher, Women of Mission secretary and Sunday School secretary.
Survivors include her husband Darrell E. Hager of Alexis; one daughter, Terry Ann Hager; one son, Steven Marion Hager; two
grandchildren, Benjamin Hager and Alyssa Hager of Denver and one brother, Bob Smith of Charlotte.
